The Tampa Garden Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to educating, beautifying, and conserving our environment.

Our Projects

The Tampa Garden Club has been deeply involved in diverse and impactful projects, showcasing our dedication to environmental conservation and community enhancement.
In celebration of Florida Arbor Day 2021, we embarked on an ambitious tree-planting initiative, adorning our town with a diverse array of trees – from majestic oaks to graceful magnolias, fostering a greener and more sustainable urban landscape.
Furthermore, we take pride in the meticulous re-landscaping of the historic Peter O’Knight House, led by our talented landscaper, Anni Ellis. Working closely with the preservation committee, Ellis utilized historically accurate plants, resulting in a visually stunning showcase featuring little gem magnolias, gardenias, apostle iris, Carolina jasmine in cement pots, and morning glory adorning the black wrought-iron fencing. We invite you to experience this historical gem firsthand by visiting 245 Hyde Park Avenue.
You're invited to join Ecosphere Restoration Institute at our Annual Garden Party, our signature event of the year!

Event proceeds will go to fund our efforts restoring Palma Ceia Spring and similar unique wetlands!

FRED BALL PARK

The Parks & Rec horticulturalist who designed the garden beds around the gazebo and behind the spring in Fred Ball Park, has agreed to design the liner garden that will be planted by Rose Circle in the fall 2024 where the old chain link fence once stood. A total of 30 volunteers from PwC, Target, Keeping Tampa Bay Beautiful, Argyle Real Estate Group, and Tampa Garden Club came together to help the city remove all of the unwanted debris and load it into trucks.

The next phase will be to, grind stumps, grade the area, ensure proper drainage, repair irrigation and put in borders for the new liner garden. Please consider volunteering to help Rose Circle in the fall plant the new liner garden. We will need about 70 volunteers to get the job done. The goal is to have the plants substantiated and the front of the park ready for the historical marker ceremony in March of 2025.

Additionally, we took strides to enhance the landscaping around the American Legion, Post #5, on Kennedy Boulevard, collaborating with Greenworks and Oasis to trim trees, install irrigation, and introduce diverse flora such as peanut plants, agave, and bromeliads. Special thanks to Weeder’s Garden Club and Sprout Gardening on Gandy for their invaluable support and guidance throughout these endeavors.

Our dedication to honoring the spirit of service expanded with our participation in Wreaths Across America, a solemn tribute to our nation's heroes.
The Tampa Garden Club’s commitment to environmental conservation extends to the larger scale, as seen in our collaboration with The Florida Wildlife Corridor and the Coral Reef Foundation, contributing to the protection and restoration of vital wildlife habitats.

These projects, among others and those yet to come, stand as a testament to our unwavering commitment to enhancing the natural and civic beauty of our community.
