Our Projects

The Tampa Garden Club has been deeply involved in diverse and impactful projects, showcasing our dedication to environmental conservation and community enhancement.
We take pride in the meticulous re-landscaping of the historic Peter O’Knight House, led by the talented landscaper, Anni Ellis. Working closely with the preservation committee, Ellis utilized historically accurate plants, resulting in a visually stunning showcase featuring little gem magnolias, gardenias, apostle iris, Carolina jasmine in cement pots, and morning glory adorning the black wrought-iron fencing. We invite you to experience this historical gem firsthand by visiting:

FRED BALL PARK
(update September 14, 2025)

Rose Circle provided the necessary donations to complete the last three garden beds located in the back of the park.  Sean and Traci Riley installed the fences on July 9th and after Parks & Rec repaired the irrigation. Traci Riley in partnership with Southern Florida Landscaping installed 9 Crinium Lillies and 70 liriope on July 23rd.  Rose Circle now has a total of 13 gardens in the park they maintain and we can always use volunteers to help.

Tom Reis of Ecosphere had an official site meeting on September 10th, with the engineering firm (SWCA).  He also hired a geotechnical engineer to perform the subsurface assessments.   Tom will help Rose Circle apply for the Tampa Bay Water Source Water Protection Grant that comes open in November.  He is drafting the official entity requesting this funding to secure $7K for the plants.  Rose Circle will also apply for the Tampa Bay Estuary Grant for the renovation of Palma Ceia Spring which will start in spring 2026.  These grants require matching funds so if you would like to help please donate and designate your donation for the spring renovation.

Our commitment to community improvement has spanned numerous projects over the years. This dedication is evident in our earlier initiatives, such as the Reflection Garden (2012) and the Metropolitan Ministries culinary garden (2015), which provided significant benefits to local residents.

Additionally, our involvement in the Living Shoreline project at the Straz Riverwalk, our collaboration with The Florida Wildlife Corridor, the Coral Reef Foundation, and contributing to the protection and restoration of vital wildlife habitats highlights our commitment to protecting local ecosystems, fostering a harmonious relationship between urban development and the natural environment.

These projects, among others and those yet to come, stand as a testament to our unwavering commitment to preserving the natural beauty of our community.
